“My involvement with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has grown over the years.  At first, I encouraged my employees to walk and occasionally walked with them.  But the more I learned about this disease and the research being done to find a cure, the more I knew it would up to all of us to help where we could.  By 2009, I was honored to be asked to Chair the Walk. As the Chair, I was presented with an opportunity to reach even more people.  From the planning stages to the finish line I watched my employees come together as a team to ensure that every detail was tended to.  As individuals and companies we raised money to support the search for a cure.  As a community we raised awareness, built relationships and gave hope to those who are desperately waiting for a cure.   I am looking forward to working with JDRF in the coming years.”

2010   Lebo Newman, Justin Trimble & Rick Clark, Signature Landscapes

“We were very happy with the support of the community as well as the JDRF staff for this year’s walk. With the donations up over the prior year in such a challenging economic environment, it was a surprising result and surely due to the many efforts made by ALL of the volunteers, Board and Staff. The kick off luncheon was special and successful! A job well done and all are to be congratulated!” – Lebo Newman

2012   Justin Piper, Reno Aces

“Chairing the Walk To Cure Diabetes exceeded the Reno Aces’ expectation in every possible way.  Our fans, vendors and employees enjoyed diving in to support the Walk and make a difference in the N. Nevada community.  There are very few ways to impact the lives of children in such a meaningful way and the Walk to Cure Diabetes does just that.”
